Shopping for Shabbat in Chiang Mai

A sudden change in flight plans gave me an opportunity to spend a day in Chiang Mai, and hunt down the Chabad House. They've moved since I was here last, and they now have a restaurant. They also have a young shaliach-in-training from Virginia, so I didn't get to practice my Hebrew as much as I thought I might.

What I did get was two bottles of Israeli semi-sweet white wine, which should get me through kiddush for at least a month, plus enough small challah rolls for a few weeks. I'm very grateful for both.

The Chabad House is located in a rather unremarkable storefront near Chiang Mai's Night Market. Needless to say, this is not their welcome sign, but one I saw on my hike into town from my hotel.
